Message You need to remove the lower transmission shields which gives you access to the torque convertor. With the shields removed you can remove the bolts for the torque convertor. I believe there are 4 bolts total that attach the flex plate to the torque convertor. With those removed, and all the transmission bolts removed, you can pull the transmission back and lower it. You want the torque convertor removed with the transmission, do not leave it on the engine like you would with a clutch assembly.

Also, please make sure you guys have a tranmission jack. The automatic is heavy, someone can really get hurt if it falls on them. Good luck.

I have nightmares about that happening...I'd be the poor bastard you'd hear about on the news that gets killed by a softball-size chunk while spreading out my body over the hood and screaming "Nooo!" (Having a conversation about hail damage) - BradZ (FL) on March 25, 2005 at 9:56 PM

Tell your friend that you could take a dump, light it on fire and that would be hotter shit than his car. Probes suck, that's just all there is to it. - 300ZXpert (someday) on April 04, 2005 at 11:35 PM
